The story of a photographer
Growing up in a small town in the country, gave way to a little girl who loved bugs & dirt, collecting rocks, using my imagination, and pretending I was a mama to all my baby dolls. Now that I am an adult I still live in a small town, love dirt and bugs, have too many collections, rely on my imagination daily and no longer have to pretend to be a mama, because I am one!
I am the proud (and often covered in glitter or slime) mother to a very busy "little mama" daughter, Piper (4yrs) and an athletic, smarter than me son, Grady (9yrs). I am married to a very funny and quirky police officer who I have known since we were young teenagers. We love to spend most of our time outside camping, fishing, going to the lake, or playing with our kids. Though our days are filled with the never ending mini adventures of parenthood, such as dance classes and ball practice, we always look forward to the weekends where we can get together with our extended family and laugh, play Pegs & Jokers and eat!
I grew up with a walk in closet of photo-albums that were filled with family vacations, day-to-day moments captured in time, family events and special occasions. It was not until I was much older that I realized not every family had their history documented with hundreds of photos. My mother is one of the most amazing individuals I have ever known and probably ever will. She made sure to capture so many memories on all those little 4x5 pieces of paper. We have spent countless hours going through all of those photographs over the years. Moments where we introduced our own children to their great grandparents or compared our own baby pictures with our own littlest newborn. New moments were being created while reminiscing over old ones. What a priceless blessing! I am so thankful to my mother for teaching me the importance of not only capturing memories but printing them as well. My love for photography has grown in me from such an early age and I am thankful to God every day to be able to build a career around my passion.
